Ever since I was a kid, my favorite type of fruit to eat were bananas. Bananas are low in calories, very tasty and very sweet, plus they fill you up very fast. Whenever I got done playing outside with my friends I would usually come back inside my house to eat a few bananas. Besides being very tasty, bananas also have many health benefits to people that eat them.

Bananas contain a special type of protein called tryptophan. Tryptophan is very unique in that it is very important in the conversion of serotonin to melatonin, which is a very important compound and not only fighting depression but helping you to relax. Bananas are also a rich source of vitamin B. vitamin D has always been associated with calming the nervous system down which also allows you to relax. Bananas have also been prescribed to people that have intestinal disorders, and this is because of its soft and smooth texture. Whenever I used to have constipation as a kid my parents used to always feed me bananas to loosen up my stool and this, in turn, would help me to get rid of constipation faster than I normally would. Bananas are also very high in potassium which has always been known as a stress fighter, so during times of high stress, it is always good to incorporate the bananas into your diet. They are also high in iron, and iron is a very important mineral that is used in the production of hemoglobin. Just remember that the iron coming from bananas is non-heme iron which means most of it will not be absorbed unless it is eaten with a food that also has heme-iron, such as red meat. For you ladies that have morning sickness, having a banana or two will help keep your blood sugar levels on an even keel to avoid this problem.

The fact that bananas are so sweet means that you can use them as a substitute for foods and products that are high in manufactured sugar is called sucrose. The sugar and bananas is called fructose and the difference between these two sugars is that sucrose is absorbed really fast so it will give you a sugar high but will leave you coming crashing down to Earth, while fructose which is a natural sugar that is found in most fruits is absorbed at a much more even rate. Little do most people know, bananas are also a great topical agent as far as killing off warts. If you haven’t warts all you need to do is to grab a piece of banana skin, put it on the warped, with the inner skin placed on the warped and within a short while you’re wart problems will be cured.
